Liturgical Year 2021 -2022
Going for another go of an idea tired a couple times. 4 banners, change colors based on the season, with a centered "logo" of some kind. One banner stands out from the rest. Overall it worked well. I also kept a theme going of a display on the window ledges around the body of the church. I think that almost worked better than the primary 4 banner idea. Some elements that jumped out to me as working really well included the desert scene on the Lent banners. I thought this gave a very simple and unique look that worked really well. Lots of cutting, but well worth it. I unintentionally reused an idea where I copied the symbol on the Altar onto the banners over Ordinary Time. It worked well both times, so I was OK when I discovered I had done that. The last thought on this is I got burned out. Between what I was doing here at St Pat's and what I was doing at St. Rose, I determined I was doing to board an idea. It's not that the designs themselves were complex, but more forcing myself into caring elements throughout the whole year, even if they didn't work all that well in a particular season. As I said, the idea of this season long design carries back to 2020, so that's 3 years of trying to make it work. I vowed no carrying over for the 22-23 designs as a result.
