Liturgical Year 2022-2023
This was a year with no real theme, and that was intentional. After the burnout from overly complex long designs, I went out of my way to NOT have seasons pull elements though. The team before me at St Rose used the gradients frequently, but never for Advent or Easter. I took advantage of this and created one for both seasons. The blue-purple-pink one at Advent was easy. The Easter one was more complex. I couldn't settle on what colors to use. I really wanted to go with a teal-aqua-yellow look (think the California Golden Seals) but I didn't have the right colors. Instead I went with a sunrise look, which turned out awesome. I also loved the simplicity of this Lent design. I carried the three wreaths with the banners in the sanctuary, sides, outside and on the bulletin boards. Ordinary time summer jumps out too. It's a very simple design, but I just love how the white on the Altar pops with the dark wood work and dark green banners. It makes it the focal point it should be.
