Liturgical Year 2022-2023
Despite my vow to have nothing carry over from season to season after burnout from the past few years, I did carry a fair number of elements over, but just within a season or two, far less stressful. The crowing achievement of this year's designs was the cross from Lent to Pentecost. I stumbled on a design from another church where they had their cross and the Pascal Candle lined up together with flowers around and I loved the idea! It wasn't perfect, cause from some perspectives the candle didn't line up perfectly, but overall it worked really well. The colored stripes behind the cross at Easter originally were supposed to drape off to the side, but as I was raising the banner in the test phase, the strips rolled behind the cross and it didn't take long to adjust the design and give the fantastic look I landed on. I went with a red heavy Christmas, knowing the next year was going to be a 4th Sunday of Advent/Christmas Eve overlap. The Magnolia branches were a happy accident too, from an over order at work. They worked well to add a different element to the Christmas and OT Winter designs. The summer OT design, I got the great idea to have a flower anchor the 4 plant arrangements around the church. It was not a great idea, hence the plant reboot for fall.
